Gonzaga Retreat Team:

This team is called to be an evangelizing presence on Eye Street through their work as leaders of the varied retreats offered to each class. Members of the team will be assigned to work on retreats by the Campus Ministry Staff, and may find themselves focused specifically on the Sophomore Retreats, the Freshman Retreat, or working a combination of these and Kairos or the Seniro Legacy retreat.  In any case, they should expect to miss up to five or more class days through this commitment during the year.

Applications become available in the late winter and early spring of a student's sophomore and junior year and the process involves an essay, self evaluation, two teacher evaluations, and an interview.  Any rising juniors or seniors who have enjoyed their retreat experience, desire to improve the retreat program, and consider themselves to be responsible are invited to apply!  Members of this retreat team then serve all of Gonzaga's retreats as they are assigned to assist with the freshman, sophomore, kairos, and senior retreat programs.

Leaders are required to attend a mandatory, weekend, overnight training  in August at the beginning of their junior and senior year.

Freshman Retreat Team:

This team of leaders is comprised of juniors and seniors. For the Gonzaga Freshman Retreat 2017, the team will be formed of members of the student retreat leadership team. Participating leaders will be notified in the fall of their assignment.  If for some reason, any additional leaders were required, a general call for applications will be put out when the need is recognized. The application process involves an essay, a self- evaluation, two teacher evaluations, and an interview.  Any rising upperclassman who enjoyed his freshman retreat, wants to improve the program, and/or feels that he has leadership potential is welcome to express his interest in being involved!  Please be aware that this is a significant time commitment and needs to be your primary winter extra-curricular activity.

Grounds Crew:

This team of sophomores serves as the technical crew for the Freshman Retreat. Students may submit their names for this group to the list in the fall of their sophomore year.  From that list, approximately 25 sophomores will be invited to support the retreat in this role.

KAIROS Teams:

These teams are typically comprised of eight seniors and eight faculty members. There are many qualified students who would make excellent KAIROS leaders, but unfortunately, there are not enough spaces to accommodate all of the gift and generosity of spirit on Eye Street.  If you are not invited to be a leader, please consider becoming involved the the Retreat Program or Service Program in a different way.  Consideration for the kairos leader positions is given to student leaders on the Gonzaga Retreat Team and a general call for additional applications is made as the campus ministry team determines is in the interest of the retreat program.
