SCHEDULING AND COURSE REGISTRATION BEGINS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST!

Attention all Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen!

THE DEADLINE FOR COURSE CARDS IS THURSDAY, MARCH 13TH!!

  • Course registration cards will be distributed in homeroom classes.
  • There is a guide for how to select your courses on the pamphlet you will receive with the card.
  • AP and Honors lists will be posted in Ruesch/Cantwell/Kohlmann. Your Counselor also has a copy of these lists, so check if you are on them before signing up for an advanced course!
  • You should plan to speak with your Counselor about your course choices.
  • Counselors will be available to meet and talk in their offices in Forte Hall anytime during the week of February 24th.
  • Counselors will also be available to talk and collect course cards in the Upper Commons during all lunch periods March 4th - 13th.
  • DON'T WAIT UNTIL MARCH 13th! AVOID THE LINES AND TURN 'EM IN EARLY!

*THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING COURSES*

  • The most important thing to consider is a BALANCED load.  Consider how much homework you might have with your course choices, and take into account your extra-curricular activies, your family / church obligations, your individual need for sleep (teens are supposed to get 9.25 hours a night!) and your commute. These all impact how much time you have for homework.
  • Plan next year's courses based on past performance. You want to challenge yourself, but not be overly stressed.
  • Do your research!  Read the description of the courses in the course catalog, talk to the teacher of the course (for electives/advanced courses), and talk to students who have taken the courses.
  • AP Courses are not required for college admission: this is a myth! If you want to challenge yourself by taking AP courses, talk to your teachers and your Counselor.
  • Get your cards in early. The longer you wait, the less chance you have of getting into an Elective course of your choice. Remember there are limited spots for many of the electives.
