These weekday courses in the Summer Enrichment Program at Gonzaga are designed to provide intensive learning experiences to meet specific educational needs and/or interests of Gonzaga students and the extended Gonzaga community.
SAT / PSAT REVIEW CLASSES
The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and the ACT test continue to be essential components of the college selection and decision process for college-bound seniors. The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) is both a practice experience and a predictor for college-bound juniors. These review courses in Mathematics and English (Verbal) content areas help students prepare successfully for these important tests. The classes are intensive and comprehensive. These concentrated courses are devoted exclusively to reviewing and mastering test materials. Courses will include a simulated test.
SAT/ACT: MATHEMATICS
Session I: 8:30-10:00 AM
Session II: 11:30 AM-1:00 PM
The SAT/ACT class in Mathematics is designed to give incoming seniors a thorough review of college preparatory math. The review includes an overview of basic concepts and theories and practice in using essential skills and formulas.
Tuition: $400
SAT/ACT: ENGLISH
Session I & II: 10:00-11:30 AM
The SAT/ACT English (Verbal) class provides students with a review of logic problems and analytical readings. Writing, vocabulary-building and on-going word review are included. Review and practice for on-demand essay writing in the new format will be thoroughly covered.

SO YOU WANT TO MAKE A MOVIE
10:00-11:30 AM
An introduction to elements of non-linear editing, this project-based class will teach students to do feature editing, including a 30 second commercial, a man-on-the-street interview, a photo montage, and a scene that tells a story. Students will use current video equipment and Adobe Premier Pro CS6 to create digital videos for presentations or portfolios.

GEAR UP FOR GEOMETRY
8:30-10:00 AM
This course is an opportunity for rising sophomores to develop skills needed for success in Geometry. Introductory instruction and conceptual development of geometric theorems, postulates and proofs are provided. Students will learn to switch from analytical approach used in Algebra to the more logical methodology of Geometry.

ALGEBRA REFRESHER
10:00 - 11:30 AM
A review of basic algebra skills, grown “rusty” during geometry, this course is designed to help students prepare for Algebra II in the Fall. This class will allow students to begin their third year of high school mathematics with confidence and knowledge.

CRAFTING THE COLLEGE ESSAY
Session I June 26, 27, 28, 29, July 5 10:00 AM - 12 NOON
Session II June 26, 27, 28, 29, July 5 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Session III July 10, 11, 12, 13, 17 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Designed for seniors who will soon begin the application process, this class focuses on the essential college essay. Classes will concentrate on general essay principles and examine effective techniques. Assistance with individual drafts will be provided.
Tuition: $150 per session
* Early registration is strongly encouraged for all summer programs. Please be sure to specify courses and program when registering by mail.
* Students are expected to wear appropriate dress and conduct themselves in an orderly manner at all times. Collared shirt, fingertip length shorts or cuffed pants and socks are the norm.
* Gonzaga is a smoke-free campus.
